‘The fair breeze blew, the white foam
flew,
The furrow followed free;
We were the first that ever burst
Into that silent sea.’
(The Rime of the Ancient
Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, 1798)
The programme explores our physical and spiritual relationship with
the sea, from gazing at the distant horizon to the bodily motion of swimming,
it also takes a dip into the darker aspects of total submergence.
